Home Supplies
Privacy policy
Prepared October 30, 2026
Pre-publication draft. Open Food Facts retention details and App Store privacy answers still require verification. This page describes current app behavior; it has not yet been published at the planned address.
Home Supplies helps you manage household inventory. This policy explains where your information goes, what remains on your device, and the limits of deletion. Contact: support@tmiga.com.
1. Local records and optional cloud services
Inventory, history, shopping lists, reminders, settings and managed attachments are stored locally. No separate Home Supplies account is needed for local inventory. If Sync household is enabled, household records sync through your signed-in Apple iCloud account. Disable it per household under More → Households. Photos and documents are not part of household sync. Different-account sharing remains under development.
2. Local reminders and silent notifications
Inventory reminder alerts are scheduled locally. Separately, CloudKit uses Apple silent background notifications to tell the app to check for synced changes. Those sync notifications do not display an alert or play a sound.
3. Photos and documents
Camera and photo-library access are used when you choose to scan or attach an image. Saved item and purchase photos and documents remain in app storage without an automatic expiry and are included in full app backups. Replacing or removing an attachment triggers best-effort local cleanup when no record still uses it; cleanup can fail. The app does not delete your original library photos. No cross-device photo synchronization is provided by household sync.
4. Receipt images and temporary files
Receipt text recognition runs locally using Apple Vision. The scanned image is not stored as an inventory attachment or included as a scanned receipt image in app backups. A camera or photo-picker temporary copy may remain in the device cache; immediate cleanup is not guaranteed. Original library images remain. Confirmed purchase data is retained as inventory history. Household clearing does not purge temporary receipt caches.
5. Voice and local interpretation
In-app speech recognition and interpretation remain on the device using supported Apple capabilities and a guided local fallback. No voice audio or conversation session is retained and there is no silent remote inference fallback. Confirmed inventory changes remain in history. Deliberately remembered product vocabulary is local and has separate forget controls. Availability depends on the device, language, permissions and installed resources.
6. Optional barcode lookup
Barcode Beta and online lookup have separate settings. Local barcode scanning and remembered item links do not require online lookup. When you explicitly look up an unknown code, the app sends that barcode and app-identifying headers to Open Food Facts, which also receives network information such as your IP address. Inventory, household identifiers, photos and recordings are not sent for lookup. Local barcode mappings are included in app backups. Open Food Facts logging and retention have not yet been verified; this remains a pre-publication disclosure check.
7. Backups, exports and external copies
You choose where app backup and export files are saved; enabled automatic backups use your configured destination. Full backups include managed photos and documents. Password-protected backups are encrypted; forgotten passwords cannot be recovered. CSV exports are not encrypted. Existing backup, export and shared copies need separate deletion. Your device or cloud provider may also manage its own backup and recovery copies.
8. Deletion and recovery limits
Clear household data offers separate device-only and all-devices choices. Device-only clearing disables sync here and retains cloud data and other phones. Shared clearing requires the household owner and a connected household; updated devices apply it when they sync, while offline edits can require recovery. Other households, household names and members, unit definitions, original library photos and existing backup/export files remain. Clearing is not revocation of sharing access. Ordinary record deletion does not immediately erase historical sync baselines, journals or tombstones; providers may retain recovery copies. File or notification cleanup failures can leave additional local cleanup pending.
9. Advertising, analytics and this website
The app contains no advertising, analytics or advertising trackers. This static website includes no analytics scripts, advertising, forms or cookies set by its code, and loads its assets locally. The hosting provider may receive technical request information such as IP address; its actual logging and retention must be confirmed when hosting is configured. Emailing support shares the information you choose to send with the support mailbox provider.
10. Your choices and contact
Use app Settings to manage language, voice and optional barcode lookup. Use household settings to control sync, Backup & Import to manage app backups, and Clear household data to choose a deletion scope. Permissions can be managed in iOS Settings.
